Review Key Math Concepts

Test preparation programs include, but are not limited to, the following major concepts covered in the math portion of the SAT/ACT*:

However, certain math concepts seem to be emphasized more than others (e.g., parallel line theorems over graphing ellipses). With targeted tutoring sessions, focusing on mastery of these key concepts, students can significantly improve their score on the SAT test.

Refine Test-taking Skills

Learn how to make educated guesses to improve your performance. Practice and review concepts covered on the math portion of the SAT test. Take actual tests to familiarize yourself with the layout, directions, and "reference formulas" provided at the beginning of the test.

Time yourself during these practice tests to better understand when to skip a problem. Define more clearly where your mathematical strengths and weaknesses lie so you know what areas of the test you have to focus review efforts on.

Get into a Better College

Fact: A higher math score on the SAT test will get you into a better college. Of course, grades and community service are also extremely important factors in determining your admission status. Yet the weight which SAT scores hold with college admissions officers has increased relative to its significance in past decades.

Don't hurt your chances of getting into your college of choice; get SAT test preparation assistance from the Charlotte Math Tutor and maximize your math score!
