How much is enough?
Generally, students who are failing benefit most from two 1-hour sessions per week, at least until he/she feels more comfortable with the material.
However, the vast majority of my clients meet me for one hour each week and notice significant improvement from that level of assistance. Others like to book two sessions per week and use one session for math and one for chemistry.
Tell me how you did that..
With rigorous basic skills practice, regular training in technology, and reinforcement of student confidence I can help your child learn how to learn.
A vast number of psychological studies suggest that "metacognition," the ability to analyze/understand the process of learning, is a key aspect of expertise. By learning how to study more efficiently students can get better grades and have more free time! What teen-ager could ask for more?
Middle School Tutoring
Don't let your child graduate from middle school without having mastered essential math skills needed for success in high school mathematics courses. ALL students entering 9th grade are expected to be fluent with operations on fractions, decimals, and percents. Moreover, they must be comfortable with changing one of these forms into another one (e.g., converting fractions to decimals).
High School Tutoring
Success in college depends largely on having a solid mathematical foundation set during the high school years. Why pay for a college algebra course when your child can complete college requirements while still in high school?
If your child is struggling in math let me help him or her to not only succeed in math, but also generate self-confidence and academic pride.
College Tutoring
Whereas most math tutors cannot effectively teach Calculus or Statistic courses, with 14 years of experience tutoring these topics I can help your child succeed in his or her academic efforts.
I also point out problem "tricks" commonly used to solve more difficult exercises. Don't be satisfied getting by in your math course; call me at (704) 451-9998 today and conquer your math difficulties.
It's a Two-way Street
Ultimately, a successful tutoring experience requires
considerable work for all involved parties. Students must first be
willing to get help, and then follow up that commitment with a consistent
effort to improve. I can supply a student with the necessary tools for success,
but he/she must practice using them to gain lasting proficiency.
